Convio Named One of Texas' Fastest Growing Technology Companies
On-Demand Software Provider for Nonprofits Makes Deloitte's "Texas Technology Fast 50" List With Five-Year Revenue Growth of Nearly 2,500 Percent
Austin, Texas (August 29, 2006) —
Convio, Inc. — the leading provider of on-demand software and services that help nonprofits use the Internet for building strong constituent relationships and driving support — has been named one of the fastest growing technology companies in the Lone Star state, ranking 11th on Deloitte's prominent "Texas Technology Fast 50" list.
This is the second time in less than a week that Convio has been recognized for its strong company performance. Inc. magazine also just named Convio to its annual Inc. 500 list, which honors the fastest growing private companies in the United States.
Deloitte's Texas Technology Fast 50 is the only statewide award program that ranks technology, media, telecommunications and life science companies based on percentage revenue growth over five years from 2001 to 2005. During this period, Convio achieved revenue growth of nearly 2,500 percent.
"Deloitte's Texas Technology Fast 50 companies have shown strength, vision and tenacity to succeed in today's very competitive technology environment," said Skip Moore, Regional Managing Partner, Technology, Media and Telecommunications, Deloitte & Touche LLP. "We applaud the success of Convio and acknowledge it as one of the very few to accomplish such a fast growth rate over the past five years."
Convio serves more than 600 organizations in diverse segments of the nonprofit sector. The company's online constituent relationship management (eCRM) software helps organizations use the Internet for building strong constituent relationships to drive fundraising, marketing, advocacy and other forms of mission-critical support. Convio works with some of the country's most well-known nonprofits including American Red Cross, Easter Seals, National Multiple Sclerosis Society and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
"We're proud that Convio's strong and consistent performance landed our company on Deloitte's prestigious Texas Technology Fast 50 list," said Gene Austin, CEO, Convio. "It is especially an honor to be recognized in a state that is home to some of the nation's most successful technology companies."
Convio's Texas Fast 50 ranking means the company automatically is eligible for Deloitte's Technology Fast 500, which recognizes the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in North America. The Texas Fast 50 and Inc. 500 awards are the most recent honors that Convio has received over the past few years acknowledging the company's strong performance and industry leadership. The Austin Business Journal named Convio as its 2005 "Private Company of the Year," and twice has recognized the company as one of the fastest growing private businesses in Central Texas. Additionally, Convio's founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Vinay Bhagat, was named "Fundraising Professional of the Year" for 2006 by FundRaising Success magazine and was a finalist for the 2006 Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year" award in the Central Texas region.
