Call for Presentations

If you’d like to speak at this conference — or just submit a session idea — now’s your chance. More than 800 nonprofit sector professionals will gather this October in Baltimore for Convio’s fifth annual Summit. We know that some of the most insightful and valuable information comes straight from our clients, partners and nonprofit sector experts.

Presentation Guidelines (What we’re looking for)

Subject Matter — Our goal is to provide Summit attendees with both fresh ideas and real-world techniques/examples for fundraising, marketing and more using the Internet.

Following are the topic areas that you've told us you're interested in:

  • Integrated Marketing Fundamentals - includes optimization, file building and cultivation, major gifts, multichannel and advocacy
  • Special Events/Personal Events/Fundraising - including how to's and case studys 
  • Peer to Peer/TeamRaiser  
  • Data Management/Common Ground Integration/Technical Topics/Database Administration /Web Presence
  • Social Media/Mobile/New Media
  • Executive level topics - incuding sessions on multiaffiliate relationships at the national, regional and local levels.
  • Wild Cards - don't see something listed above that you think would be wildly interesting? Tell us about it. Some examples could be case study-type sessions, disaster relief learning efforts and more. 

Speakers — Sessions that include Convio client speakers and/or examples are strongly preferred.

Format — We want to provide attendees with fun, creative and interactive experiences. Think of new ways to present your material that not only step outside of the box, but actually CHANGE the box! Make it a session that you’d want to attend, too.
Some ideas: Game show format; moderator with client/partner panel; 10 ideas you can start using today; audience questions with prizes for the best answer. Use your imagination! Just remember that attendance for each session could be 150+, so don’t count on spending one-on-one time with attendees in your session.

Length — Each session should be no longer than 1 hour, including Q&A or other audience feedback/participation.

Deadlines (When we need it)

June 7 — Call for presentations closes
June/July — Convio will notify all submitters of selected presentations
July — All speakers will receive instructions and deadlines for their presentations
